Facebook is a private, walled, anti-social para-network. Since 2021, I’ve decided not to be used by it anymore. I prefer calling having an account on the platform “used by,” because it doesn’t seem to provide any benefit if we step up from the individual level. Most of the people I know hate Facebook and would love to leave, but they’re held hostage by the network effect.

You must feed the troll to cross the bridge. He’s there because others before you fed him.

After years he became very greedy. You want him to go away, but first you need to use another bridge for a while. Luckily, there are people who’ve already built alternative routes.
